I really enjoyed the GDVC Crit #1 in Madoson, WI two weeks ago and was ready for the 2 1/2 hr drive today to do it again.

First, I seem to have developed a crack near the top of my radiator. I'm going anyway. It's containable (if it doesn't get worse) and a can of Barrs-Leak may even seal it. Get everything loaded up and head for the hardware for a can of Barrs-Leak. Still closed at 7am. Try a gas station. I'm in luck and they have some other radiator sealant. I thought to bring a towel out of the garage to open the cap when I had left. Grab the towel and start to carefully open the cap and there's a wasp in the towel that stings me on the right index finger. By the time I get the cap open, my finger is swollen so that I can only bend it about half way. By the time I get the sealant in there is no way I can close my hand enough to hold on to the bars in a race.

The swelling may go down in the next 3 1/2 hours or it may not. I think I have had enough negative omens for one day. Maybe a ride this afternoon???
