I think I'm going to be out of town, which bites for several reasons, including warm weather for the Kenosha Krit (parkside) on Sunday.

You wouldn't happen to know ex-Turin guy named "John Lindsey" would you? It's been probably 6-7 years since he worked there. He periodically does some freelance graphics work for Turin and Lake...

You bet! I'll be there Friday after work trying not to spend cash like a drunken sailor on hookers! I'm not sure if I'll make it on Sat after the XXX 8:30am ride, but we'll see how much cash is left in my wallet. I worked the show last year selling sunglasses--anyone remember me from Aruba Shades- we were the two knuckleheads screaming at EVERYONE!! Speaking of Turin way back when...Remember the 13 yo squirely kid running around workin in the City Sweats corner...that was me too...

Sorry - name doesn't ring a bell, but I only started working there last week! But, having been to the shop so often over the years, I'm sure I've met him.

yup, definitely gonna be there. im planning on going to my shop friday morning to finish speccing out my langster on order and putting a down payment on it, then crank it down to the bike show. i can only stay for like, 2 hours on friday tho...i have rowing practice at 4:30. oh well...ill be able to see one or two shows. oh, and my shop had comp passes to the bike show, which was even better. yay for saving money!

How cool is that? Make sure to go to Cozy Noodle - great cheap Thai.

BLAH Bike show sucks this year--Just got back from it and let me be the first to say it was a waste of $7 (-$2 coupon off http://www.chicagobikeshow.com ) Trek has no booth, there are almost no manufacturers, and the vendors really skimped out this year-only two booths with clothing-Kozy's and longscycle.com. No exotic bikes, no new technology, nothing, nada. Sigh.

Yeah it's no Interbike....

I thought the show was about the same as last year. I had a pretty good conversation with one of the owners of Slingshot (interesting stuff they got planned). The Kenda booth was selling tires cheap so I picked up some Kenda Kontender Lite tires for $13/each (gotta see if there are reviews on these)...

One interesting thing that was in the literature in the baggy they give you was an anouncement that Veloswap is coming to Chicago in Oct (http://www.veloswap.com). Maybe if these guys got together with the Chi Bike Show guys then we could have a real show...

On another note, I got in 20 miles towing a Burley along the lakefront this morning as well as a somewhat aching reminder that my daugher is much bigger and heavier then last year...
