Saw it. It's getting to the point that maybe we should throw the baby out with the bathwater in Colorado Springs.

and it's good to see you on board here. But this is just the canary in the coal-mine and exactly why we Pro Religion Liberals just want to make sure all religions stay out of Govt, education, etc....

I'm no fan of religion in Government either, but I think there are historical/social norms that should be kept. I think France, for example, makes a huge mistake in its wholesale secularism.

who fled goverments ruled by single theocracies. respect them all, keep them out of Govt and Govt out of them, makes it safer for both. The fact that this country is run by rule of law, any sort of leaning to any single belief would run contrary to majority rule with minority rights system our forebearers created. There's just too many versions of god in this country (even within the Judeo Christian Community) to try to single one faith out for the state.

Agreed. Which isn't to say that the Founding Fathers were above throwing a reference to "God" into their speech and even official documents. Also, consider that in colonial New England, anyway, the meetinghouse served as both local Government HQ and place of worship.

but our Founding Fathers by today's FundiCons would be thought of as Secular Humanist / Near Satanists and bound for hell with their Unitarian Animism.
