Kicks Off Qualifying Races
Norristown, PA – April 12, 2005 – Juniors have their first crack at qualifying for the Wachovia Junior PCT Grand Prix this weekend at the Fantastic Farmersville Junior Two-Day Omnium, April 16-17 in Farmersville, PA.
The top five junior riders, ages 18 and under, will qualify to participate in the Junior PCT Grand Prix - an invitational points race for 20 junior male cyclists scheduled to take place at the Wachovia USPRO Championship on June 5, 2005 in Philadelphia.
The Junior PCT Grand Prix is held on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway after the finish of the women’s Wachovia Liberty Classic and approximately on lap 6 of the Wachovia USPRO Championship. The 5-mile race consists of 3.5 laps between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle where 20 top junior riders will be competing for prizes valuing $1,000.
The top 5 junior riders, age 18 and under, will be selected from each of four qualifying events.
