That was awesome for lance to send Danielson on the way and see if Landis
had it in him.

Lance could of busted out earlier and dropped Landis for sure, like he did at the end
- coming in closer to 1st place probably?

Obviously, Danielson was in a better position to take the GC lead after the TT day, as Armstrong stunk it up during the ITT. And I don't want to hear all of the excuses people are going to offer about "taking it easy" because of the weather. He rode badly at the TT, end of the story. Danielson was riding stronger going up the climbs, so it made sense to send him on the attack, and for Armstrong to mark Landis and sit on his wheel. He didn't need to drop him earlier, just mark him and wait to see if he could make up the time Danielson made on him going up the mountain.

so he did very good dom duty. ran a pace so high it eliminated most of the group and put Levi and Floyd under pressure while TD just rode at the back of the group. When TD went with Levi it was LA's responsibility to sit on Floyd. It is a psyche killer being marked and if LA had tried to bridge he may have towed Floyd to TD and killed the GC. Look back to the 02 TdF with LA and Roberto Heras. Same thing, same tactic. They wanted to get Roberto the stage but he couldn't drop Beloki so LA had to go it instead. Once time was established and Floyd was cracked LA was free to drop him before the finish. It was perfect team tactics with LA clearly playing the support role.

I had a friend tell me that Lance made a real ass of himself at the top . Some kind of NFL type celebration. I wasn't there he was. Anyone else see it? I thought maybe it was a kind of joke or something???

Pretty rudimentary cycling tactics, nothing special. In fact if Texstrong had done anything else he would have looked like an amateur or worse.....an arsehole teamate.

As he crossed the line he pointed back at Landis, then pointed at the clock.

Lance is so cute when he's petty.

and everytime Roberto tried to go, Joseba stuck with him. going any sooner than he did might have jeapordized the capture of the leaders jersey. besides having LA sit on you (as an ex teammate) while one of the guys slated as your replacement is taking the race from you has to mess with your head. Yea, agreed I thought LA was kind of petty at the line, fits right into his mindset (you are either all for me or against me - when referring to his 'friends') I'm sure though he probably respects and likes Floyd inside, now that he's 'the enemy' LA was revelling in Floyd's defeat.
