I was able to get the OLN feed to work on my Mac when I made a mistake. I used Explorer as suggested in the instructions for Macintosh users to sign on and receive the cookie that allows Windows Media Player to play the Giro live feed. At this point the play button didn't work when I pressed play. A while later I opened Safari by mistake, followed the Watch Live Feed prompts as before, and this time the play button worked. The feed comes through. Apparently, I need Explorer to get the cookie each day and Safari to activate the feed. Whatever. Combined with the Eurosport audio, the experience is awsome!

I tried it last night and it didn't work for me. I logged in to MediaZone through IE and when I clicked on the archived feed, first MediaPlayer was launched and started loading, then Safari was launched mirroring the daily stages page and then a second Safari window opened and an error pane came down with a long message that ended saying something to the effect that a security plug-in was loaded or detected but couldn't be started. When I clicked continue on the error pane, MediaPlayer exited and I got a Safari page saying that I was authenticated and should hit the play button below but there was no play button. I got the same error after I closed IE and Safari, launched Safari, and tried to play directly.

and gone straight to RAI's live feed
I struggled to find it on their website tonight/today
but phillipepec's link from yesterday gave me live video again today FOR FREE.
It's pretty damn small, but it didn't drop out at all.

I couldn't find a way to listen to Eurosport and watch RAI, they're both RealPlayer feeds, and I'm only using the freebie RealPlayer (could only have one at a time in the same browser and you can't mute the RAI window)
so I opened Eurosport in Safari and RAI in IE, sent the Safari audio to my stereo using Airfoil and muted the computer audio, getting rid of the RAI audio but keeping the pics.
See how you go with something like that. Oh and I'm open to any better ideas if anyone's got any?

Below are the instructions I received from Media Zone to get the OLN feed for the Giro to work on my Macintosh. I did upgrade to the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player. I know this is a lot of trouble. But as I said in the first posting, the feed is working on my G4 ibook along with the Eurosport audio when I first use Explorer to get the authorization cookie and Safari to press play. Feel free to ask specific questions. I will help where I can. The picture is clearer, bigger and definitely worth the $5.95.

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Mediazone Customer Support!

Unfortunately, our content will not play reliably and with full functionality on Macintosh computers due to known incompatibilities between the Mac OS and Microsoft's Windows Media Player Digital Rights Management (DRM) system. Microsoft has verified this compatibility problem in an article on its website, essentially explaining that there are many cases where "there is no way to resolve the issue, and you won't be able to play the file." You can read the entire article here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/Macintosh/osx/readme.aspx#playingprotected

If you still wish to attempt to play our content on a Macintosh, we have some suggestions (We are unable to support Mac users, should these steps fail to work; nor can we issue refunds.):
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer for Macintosh. You can download the latest versions of both programs for free at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=5.
2. Please note that Windows Media Player 9 for Macintosh will not allow you to burn your downloaded content to CD.
3. Ensure that you are not running any firewall software, or AOL. If you are using AOL, lower the AOL consol and open Internet Explorer independently.
4. Set your default browser to Internet Explorer so that you can acquire our DRM licenses. You can set this in Safari under "Preferences."
5. Open Internet Explorer and attempt to buy and download your content acquire the license. The DRM requires IE objects, and if it is attempting to process a URL with Safari, the plug-in won't load.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide further assistance or refunds if the above suggestions do not work on your Macintosh. We appreciate the desire of our enthusiastic Mac-based users to access our content as do we appreciate your understanding with regards to the limitations of Microsoft's Windows Media Player for Macintosh and lack of a Mac DRM for Windows that an independent store can use.
