I recently bought a 1987 Basso with all Super Record off ebay. The seller notified me that the seatpost and stem were stuck before he shipped. I figured I could get them loose. So far, NOT! The stem is a 3TTT; the seatpost is Campy. The frame is Columbus SLX.

The stem and seatpost are pantographed with "Basso" and I'd really rather not destroy them. I read all the information that Sheldon Brown has and none of it has worked (lubricant, opening the seat clamp, ammonia). I got to the point of clamping the seatpost (Campy) upside down in the bench vice and using the entire frame. I went as far as I felt comfortable as I was afraid of snapping the top of the post off as it twisted.

Any help is very welcome. SAVE THE PANTOGRAPHS!

I have had great luck with ammonia. Take out the adjustable side and the spindle of the BB and pour ammonia down the seat tube of the overturned bike. Let it sit for a few days. I leave the saddle on the post and try twisting the frame with my feet on the saddle.
