The editors at Bicycling magazine recently announced their coveted “Editor’s Choice Awards”. After a week of hammering pedals up and down the twisty roads and trails of California and comparing brands in side by side performance testing, the editors chose to award both of the Women’s bike category awards to Cannondale.

A Cannondale women’s mountain bike and a women’s road bike won the prestigious awards for 2005. The Jekyll Feminine with its dual suspension was considered the best value women’s mountain bike. One tester, who is a roadie at heart, claimed the bike “made me a better mountain biker”. The Jekyll’s suspension tackled deep ruts and loose rocks when called upon.

The R1000 Feminine got the nod as the best women’s enthusiast road bike for 2005. One tester said the unique geometry “makes me faster, comfortable and confident.” The editors stated that the price is comparable to other competitors but it was “the ride that made the difference” in their final selection.

Cannondale is honored to receive these distinguished awards. Cannondale’s full range of Feminine bikes have women-specific geometries and components sized to women’s proportions (shorter arms, longer legs and smaller hands). This geometry allows women to ride Cannondale bikes to ride Cannondale bikes to their full performance capabilities.

The notion that women have shorter arms and longer legs is a myth. My daughter has long arms and very short legs!! The Fuji Provence is a much better fit.
