Mecano: Custom Carbon Frame System
The deliveries of the Mecano frame kit in size L have started at full speed.
The feedback from the athletes has been fantastic and a great number of them has chosen the innovative and high-tech project of the Columbus Carbon Fibre Lab: a full Carbon fibre frame with easy to assemble components.
The Mecano project combines the structural advantages of monocoque frames to the flexibility of its assembling elements to obtain a millimetric tailor suit, light and reliable frame.The Columbus patented modular set is assembled easily and quickly in a few steps and it is designed to build a top range, strong and high performing frame.
The prestigious and rigorous German magazine Tour has confirmed the excellent performance of the Columbus Mecano frame.
The Mecano kit is composed by:
- a monocoque front semitriangle which includes the top and down tube (available in the sizes S-M-L) and the BSA CNC machined integrated BB shell;
- the head tube (in 5 sizes) supplied with internal aluminum cups for integrated ahead set;
- the Ø35mm seat tube available in one length to be cut according to the frame size;
- the seat tube connectors in 2 different types to vary the seat tube angle.
The Mecano kit is offered by Columbus with the Carve carbon rear stay (wishbone and single plug chain stay), aluminum CNC dropouts and the Carve carbon monocoque front fork.
