Are there any forum members here that are members of any of CT's cycling clubs?
I've been to the websites of Hat City, Sound Cyclists and the SCCA.
Just looking for some insight as to what these clubs offer and if they are worth joining. I ride mostly by myself and am just looking to maybe hook up with some others for road and mtb rides in the future.
I'm just getting my cycling legs back after a couple years of layoff and realized the guys I used to ride with are no longer around.

This club has some great rides in the Newington, Durham, Middlefield and Berlin area. Not a real fast group if your looking for a challenging fast pace. Most bike shops can offer fast rides out of the shop during the week. What town are you from? This is the link.

Thanks for the link.
I live in Seymour. I'm just a rec rider not looking for all out speed/training rides. Just a decent casual ride.
I need to get my endurance back up before I sign on to any organized rides. :D

They have a Weds. Ride & Dine with various rides of 12-30 miles at 12 to 20+ mph with leaders for each ride. Routes and number of riders on each ride depend on who shows. In good weather anywhere from 5-15 on each of 3-5 rides.

For directions: http://www.hatcitycyclists.org/Road.htm

They also have rides on weekends (and a few during the week) at varuious distances and speeds listed in their members newsletter.

Optional dinner at local restaurant after the rides.

They have an organized ride on June 12th with distances from 5-100 miles.

Yankee pedlers seems like a pretty cool club. Its recreational riding and you ride with others that are at your pace. I may join myself.

I live in Manchester, CT and I'm looking for some group rides in the area. Preferably in the 30+ mile range. I typically ride about 17-18mph solo.
Thanks

Check out the Pig Iron Shop in Glastonbury - they sponsor a team and have rides. Also, Vernon Cycle - same deal. If you want to come to the west of the river, check out easternbloc.net. That is the Benidorm club site out of Canton, CT.
