Two of the most highly recommended treatments are tegaderm and duoderm. If you plug either word into the search function, you will come up with some good posts. bimini 05-23-2005, 08:57 AM There have been a lot of posts about road rash. They work best on smooth skin. If you are already shaved great. i don't shave, so I'm stuck with shaving the road rash. I start with a fresh blade and pour some H2O2 on it. Then I clean up the road rash with soap and water followed up with a healthy dose of H2O2. (the last thing you want is to get an infection started). Then stick the tegaderm on the wound. Use a patch that is an inch or two bigger than the wound. Once it's on, leave it on for a few days. It is water proof so you can bath with the stuff on and continue life as normal with the stuff on. Sometimes fluids build up inside of it and forces you to change it. I ran a test on myself last year with the liquid sprayon bandage, traditional bandage and tegaderm. Tegaderm healed cleanly in about a week without scabing (a lot faster than the other two) rule 05-23-2005, 10:08 AM http://www.velonews.com/train/articles/3909.1.html ;) Kerry Irons 05-23-2005, 04:53 PM I ran a test on myself last year with the liquid sprayon bandage, traditional bandage and tegaderm. Does your shrink know about this behavior? :) bimini 05-24-2005, 04:09 AM might be a part of cycling sometimes. Why else would I be out there playing in traffic and beating myself up so much on the bike. After the first 4-5 injuries a sane person might start questioning some of this but, no, not me. Hopefully the third screw doesn't come loose. But the road rash test came about when I slid out on paving stones in a crit last year and had 4 different road rash spots to work on.
