I've been a mountain biker for about 8 years or so, and last year I rode an MS150 here in Michigan. After 150 mles on a mountain bike, I decided that I like riding on the road, and I need another bike!

So after reading all kinds of posts and discussions, I finally bought a 2003 Jamis Ventura. It's a 62cm frame (I'm 6'3" and 220lbs) and has all Tiagra components. The kicker was I bought it from a guy on Ebay for $500. This price included Clipless pedals and shoes that fit me!

He was a really great guy, very helpful and honest. He told me had ridden the bike once and decided he didn't like it.

Anyway, I love this new bike, and I feel like I need to thank everyone on here for all their help!

And you chose a great place to photograph it too.

Now get out and ride, take more pictures and post a ride report!

Enjoy

Yes I will be riding the MS150. Both of them actually. Look for my bike and say hi!

I'll get some more shots ASAP. It's raining right now, but hopefully as soon is it dries up I'll get a good 25mi on it.

Anything I need to do to my bike to christen it? And what should I be looking to adjust while I ride?

Great bike!

I don't know if you noticed or not, but we just started a Beginner's Forum where all your questions -- and more than you can even imagine now -- will be answered by helpful road veterans like me. See you there!

I would have to say, a 150 mile ride sounds like the best way to christen it. You should look out for fit issues, and try to adjust to give you as much all-day comfort as you can get (you're going to need it). Since the bike is pretty knew, the gear and brake cables are going to stretch as well, so that may need to be adjusted soon.

Enjoy.
