How's this for a fun part of the commute? A narrow multi-use trail crossing RR tracks at an odd angle, blind corners coming from either direction, gravel and tracks on one side, gravel and a chain-link fence on the other. I might even say this is a technical course!
Let's see your hazardous commute routes ~

I should have mentioned that the picture of the ugly hazad in the previous post was taken in lovely Seattle, Washington. On the same route, you can head through Myrtle Edwards Park along the water and catch some spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains and Mt. Rainier to the south.

My first year of commuting from Chicago to Niles, IL (collar suburb) took me down some streets that, while having bike lanes, were still a little questionable....

Why would anyone drive (or sit) in that gridlock mess? Despite the obvious danger of being hit, the quickest way through would have to be by bike. There's an advertisement for bike commuting right there.

I commute in one of the toughest cities in the US (by my standards... heh)- Los Angeles. Roundtrip the commute is about 34 miles. Acutally... the commute is not that bad. I start out from Manhattan Beach to Beverly Hills. 90% of the commute is on either the beach path or bike path. Although when I'm riding in traffic, there are some busy roads. A few weeks ago, while I was crossing a crosswalk for bikes, I saw some guy get hit by a truck running a red light (the truck was going around 25 MPH). I realized how dangerous my commute could be. I'm still riding to work, but I'm more aware of my surroundings.

Be Safe.
