I am going to be part of a triathlon relay team next year as the cyclist and I am trying to figure out which frame to get, a tri specific or time trial bike. I also will do all the legs in some sprint triathlons. I also want to do some TT'ing. Is there a major difference and which frame do I need to get?

... depends on the nature of the venues you expect to compete over...

For the most part, a true Tri geometry frame is still seen as a specialty item, favoring relatively flat terrain. It appears that the vast majority of folks will modify a road machine or perhaps a "convertable" like the Cervelo Soloist.
