Catagory 4 Crits seem to be the biggest field. Can you just say F$$$ it and go for it? I am signing up for a training seminal (in Denver at the Speedway) that starts in 2 weeks but there is a crit in my own hood this weekend (City Park). Seems like I have to do it. F444 it?

Ummm...not really sure what you're asking, but I'll try to answer anyway cause, why not?

It looks like you've never raced before and want to know if you can jump into a Cat 4 crit. The answer is most certainly no. You need to start racing as a Cat 5. This answer assumes that this is only a Cat 4 race and that there is a seperate Cat 5 field as well. If it is a combined 4/5 race then you can enter, but you can't enter in a Cat 4 field as a Cat 5.

He's in denver which means it's most likely a ACA race, in ACA there is no CAT 5, only 4,3,2,1.... So all ACA cat 4 races are essentially a USCF Cat 4/5.

Go for it.

No 5's in the American Cyc. Ass. - I wish there was. I guess this is why the 4 field is so big. I guess what Im askind is should i wait until clinic is over (at the end of July) or go for it now? I really am kind of anxious to race.

Ah well that changes everything. If it's an ACA race go for it. I was thinking USA Cycling. I'd say do the race this weekend and go to the clinic in July. Clinics are great, but practical race experience is always useful.
