View Full Version : 04 DA 11-23 trouble?

Wanted to see if the other rider was pulling my leg.
I'm about to go DA10 and was talking about the gearing.

I can handle a 23, and DA has an 11-23. That's when the other guy said "a friend of a friend" told him the 11-23 is not that popular because of gearing gaps, or something??

Anyone know what he's talking about? I don't think it has anything to do with the 23.

If there is anything valid behind this, what cassette would be a better choice from DA 10?

Thanks.

Unless you can turn 53x11 the 12-23 is a better choice in my opinion. You trade the 11 for an 18T. Might not get used by some very much but I'm willing to bet more often than the 11.

BTW, the gearing gap thing only really applies to 9 speed. With 11-23 you'll loose the 16.

Many thanks! I love the 16; have a 12-25 Campy 10, and love, luv, lub that 16.
Again, thanks.
