I'm really angry now, so I'm using this forum to vent. I'm a broke college student, and recently I decided to sell a wheel on eBay. I bought a Rolf Prima Vigor front wheel to try it out, and to use as a TT / crit front, but then bought a set of Zondas, so decided I ought to sell the thing to recoup some of the cost; wasn't worth having that many wheels around at this point.
I've had several transactions on eBay, and all have gone smoothly up until now. Then this guy shows up and asks me some questions about my wheel, such as the total milage, and if there is a serial number stamped on the rim or some such thing. I tell him the truth: I'm not the original owner, so I can only guess based on what I was told, and the rim is bare. He goes ahead and bids, winning the auction. AFTER the auction ends, he sends me this e-mail:
---
"After talking to the bike shop owner, this wheel you are selling it not appear to be a Rolf rim.
It's looks like a older Shamall Campy rim, do you have any other way to verifies that.
There is also no decals on the rim saying is Rolf Prima? I just got reped of on E bay , for 400$ because I belloived the product from the picture.
I do not want to take chance and get product is not correct.
Thanks you for your understanding."

Look, buddy. The item was represented clearly. There were plenty of pictures. First of all, you don't get to make this kind of random speculation AFTER you bid, it's a f&&king contract. Second, you're wrong in your poor-grammar fears, anyhow. The rim measures exactly 34mm, and has 14 paired, bladed, hidden-nipple spokes. Shamals were, um, 41mm, I think. It's noticably lighter than my Zonda front.
Now I'm stuck paying the eBay fees, going through their annoying process of getting them back (which takes like 90 days, I hear, hardly worth it for something like 6 bucks, but still), listing it AGAIN, waiting for the auction to end AGAIN, and hoping someone won't be a scum.
It's people like this that destroy the integrity of the entire eBay system. Bah!
