I stumbled across this wheelset on the Zipp website yesterday.
http://zipp.com/products/wheels/csc_team.shtml
They look like a nice, wheelset, along the lines of an Open Pro/DA wheelset. So I googled them to find out the price.
$895 somewhere online.
What am I missing here? Super hubs or what?

You're missing profit margin :) I'm almost sure they use a standard DT Swiss RR 1.1 rim for those wheels.

That's what you're paying for.
A sidenote; I was watching my 2004 TdF DVD and it looks to me like Nicolas Jalabert is riding Zip 404s laced to DT 240 hubs. These wheels look sweet. Black hubs w/ redDT 240 logo.

By the way, Floyd Landis and other Phonak riders use DT 240s hubs with Zipp 404 rims. And, yes the "CSC training" Zipp wheelset is about $500 overpriced.

But then everyone will think you're on CSC! That's worth $500, right?
Maybe you'll randomly run into a healthnet rider, and they just might be able to persuade you to switch, for a good enough deal?

check out DT Swiss' stock wheelset, with RR 1.1 rims, 240 hubs and revo/comp spokes. performance has them for $700 + panaracer tires. http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile_combo.cfm?SKU=20537&estore_ID=&subcategory_ID=5320&CFID=34577416&CFTOKEN=85710930
even after the free tires, a 20% discount coupon and a team performance membership, there's better deals elsewhere. I remember they had a set of wheels that retailed at $900 too, but I can't find them right now.
