I don't notice any riding or handling difference after putting new Mich Pro Race 2 tires on
vs my used Bontrager race X lite tires.

The inner tubes also weighed the same, 8 ozs.

There are trade-offs. The x-lites are like being on rails, very sticky when leaning the bike over. The drawback is they wear very quickly. The RaceLite (haven't ridden the 2 yet) is an excellent handler and wears awesome. I have great flat luck on both so if you have a large tire budget, ride the bontys. I'm cheap and try to stretech my Michelins to about 3,500 for a set with regular rotations (Ooooo... I said it... "rotation"... please everyone chime in and save me from myself...)

My rear tire was becoming more square all the time (1500 miles). I saved the front tire
for now in case anything happens to the Michellins.

I took a razor blade to the rear tire, to see how cut resistant it was. Diagonal and paralell cuts would not go through all the way. Horizontal cuts would go through. That Kevlar
bead is pretty tough. Wonder why horizontal isn't protected. Oh well.
