Well a few years off it's time to start riding again. I've decided to retire the Cannodale. Here are my choices for a replacement:
Cannodale R1000
Litespeed Firenze
Idependent Fabrication Steel Crown Jewel
Merlin Cyrene
I like the Ultegra group and Mavic Kersyium wheelset. I weight in at around 212. Should get back down to around 190. I have a goal of doing a century ride at the end of Summer. In years past I race mountainbikes in the Sport class. Have done a handful of triathalons. Looking for suggestions.

why retire the cannondale?
how have you narrowed this to 2 ti with carbon forks and a semi-custom steel that are in a different class than the R1000????
Are you doing triathlons on it--if so are they long course?? if so, and with your century goal--go for comfort. to me that says no cannondale (again--why are you getting rid of it)
I don't see much difference in a cyrene vs firenze--both similar classic ti tubing, both owned by litespeed aren't they? maybe if you love curved stays the firenze is better. the cyrene is an "old" model--the laser etching is a crazy gimmick at updating it.
are you older/stiffer/sorer now? i don't think you can beat steel for comfort. that said you pay a lot for the IF name. there are other great steel bikes for less. I also don't know about kysirium and your weight are you riding them now--do you have a set of training wheels? i'd ask on the forum about wheels for 180-210 lbs. Many folks don't like the mavic kysirium--do a search of the forum.
My vote--light steel. look around at other than IF. I have a moser TK and it is my most comfortable bike. got it for 1500 with chorus groupo (ebay).

Well my Cannodale is a stiff ride. I own a Merlin mtnbike so I like the Ti feel. So that brings in the Litespeed and Merlin. Although both are owned by the same company. The IF is a well made steel with Fat City heritage. The R1000 has the nice price. It's ride is supposed to be smoother. As far as the wheelset. I have read the forums. I don't see a problem with them and heavier riders.
After looking at several bike shops and test riding. I have narrowed the search. It looks like the Cannodale R1000 or maybe the Trek 5200 (leftover 03).
