I want to remove the freewheel from my Heliums. I cannot figure out what to do. Special tools, etc? I have no manual and there does not seem to be one around.

To remove a cassette you need the proper lock ring tool (splined tool that inserts into the lock ring holding the smallest cog in place) and a chain whip. These tools are available in most shops and through most mail order/Internet shops. If you have no idea how to use them, you might look for instructions on the Park Tool web site. Sorry, wrong terminology...I have removed the cassette (I own those tools) but I want to remove what I call the freewheel carrier(?). The splined body that the cassette goes onto. I want to inspect that bearing and the pawls inside. |
