Hello,
I'm looking for my first road bike. I don't know much, the only sound advice I have recieved is make sure the bike FITS!
I originally wanted to spend about 50-100$, but this Lemond Tourmulet popped up for 175$. I have heard they are good bikes. Does anyone know anything about these bikes? Are they solid? Is it worth 175?
I tried the google searches didn't help much.
Thanks...
Amit

I assume you're talking about used bikes. LeMonds are nice. That's a very good price if the bike is in good condition (no rust, not crashed, well maintained) and it fits you well and it isn't stolen.

How can you tell if a bike is crashed>? Besides scrapes of paint of course. I don't think it's stolen because the guys is trying to sell a Specialized Hard Rock(USED) for 175$ They normally go for less then a hundred in the SF bay area. I think he may not know a lot about bikes.

I wouldnt worry too much about that. If the frame is scratched or bent just pass on it. Just make sure it fits is the best advice for that price range.
