Just picked up a set and wondering what others experience have been. jathomps 05-01-2004, 05:28 PM but I just registered on this Road Bike Review. I have a mountain bike, and I'm thinking of getting a road bike since lately I've been on the road more than the dirt. To answer your question: I have the REI expedition panniers on my commuter bike (also a mtn bike), and I have yet to fill them completely. I sure have put alot of stuff in them, however! I'm an elementary school teacher, so always have a bunch of files and odds and ends to cart back and forth, plus my clothes, bike tools, and well, stuff. They are easy to get on and off, easy to load, and plenty of space. I sometimes ride to the library to return all the childrens' books I check out for my classroom. Weight is no problem. They do not show any wear even after a year's use (2x a week or so), and I have really enjoyed them. Couldn't commute without them. The perk: riding with all that extra weight makes me feel WonderWoman when I ride my other non-loaded bike! Kary 05-03-2004, 12:27 PM I have been using them for several year for commuting. They still look like new. Anyone else outthere have the REI Expedition and Traverse Panniers? Just picked up a set and wondering what others experience have been. |
