Does anyone know a good route ride from Phoenix to Wickenburg? I biked it once, but I don't remember the route.

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers,

I would recommend parking at the White Horse Bar and Grill at 99th ave(lake pleasant hwy) and Carefree hwy, then ride. From there make a left at the Carefree HWY intersection heading west. Follow the carefree hwy for about 25+ miles to hwy 93 or 60, can't recollect. Anyway at this point you can't miss the sign 'Wickenburg' to the right. Now your headed North. Ride this about 20 miles and it will roll you right into Wickenburg. Cool place, nice ride, wide shoulders. Wait until October :) Unless you like the heat.

Kona Rider,
Would you be interested in a ride to Wickenberg and then off to Parker in November? Wanna join a team for the MS ride that does the trip over a weekend? If you are looking for a path to Wickenberg, I believe there is a path you can look at on the MS 150 site. If you look at my other thread it has the site there or go to google and type in ms 10 az and it is the first site that pops up.

Let me know.

That was the first long ride I have ever done. Lots of good memories. I had a friend who got me into cycling, he had raised a bunch of money to ride, but then hurt his back a few weeks before the event. He asked me if I wanted to do it and lent me his bike. The rest is history for me. I rode in '98, '99, and 2000. The last year was the best, as I had knew the route well by that point and ended up riding with a cool group of people. First two years I was on Team Insight and the last year I was riding for Team 3TV/MO-llenium.

I missed it in '01, my sis was getting married and I remember hearing that the ride was cut short because of torrential rains. I was going to do it in '02, but I heard they changed the route. Glad to hear it is going to Parker again!

I'd love to do it again though, it was just so much fun.

Cheers,
