View Full Version : HED Alps wheels any thoughts? jradford 04-05-2004, 11:46 AM I was looking at these wheels and look to be a good racing set. does anyone own a set and how are they? wongsifu_mk 04-05-2004, 02:29 PM ...on long rides, but no racing. I've got about 1000 miles on them and the only servicing so far has been a minor truing for the rear. I love 'em – no complaints whatsoever (so far...). Bixe 04-05-2004, 04:59 PM These Alps have not been a maintenance problem at all. They are reasonably light (considering the profile) and are a handful in a significant crosswind or on any road where the traffic blasts by in close proximity. They are not convertible between Campy/Shimano (the dish is different on each; there’s no conversion kit that I'm aware of). They are not climbers. The front wheel spokes are titanium and not exactly confidence inspiring on the descent. They are pretty much race day-time trial wheels w/ MSRP to match; don’t pay anything near retail. Wanna buy these? http://forums.roadbikereview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2397 Well, I'm not serious about selling these (yet). Mark |
