I finally made the plunge and purchased a road bike. I picked it up last week and have already gotten 73 miles on it. I hope to push it up over 100 this weekend.
I got a great deal on it during the TdF. I hope to work up to commuting to work a couple of days a week. I have been lurking for a while and find some of the conversations that go on here pretty interesting.

Good looking bike! New bikes are always so cute. Cherish the moments when they are young. Baby them and shower them with love and effection. You two will soon bond and spend many happy days together!
Sorry... I've had too many beers.
Enjoy!

Just go and ride, ride, and ride some more.
BTW, the convention on taking and posting a bike picture is to photograph it from the drivetrain side. That way your crank, chainrings, derailleurs, etc. all appear up front. ;)
Nice bike!

This is just the direction I hang it on the wall. I snapped the picture for a friend of mine. I will take another picture tonight with the drivetrain out.

Most of the compnents are Tiagra with the rear derailleur being 105. The crainkset is Bontrager Select 52/42/30 with a SRAM 950 12-26, 9 speed cassette.
Being that I only paid $725 for the bike I am really happy with it.

I don't know what it is about new bikes - I haven't had a new bike for 12 years, and now a friend has got me to take up road cycling. My bike's on the way and I don't think I've been this excited in, oh, about 12 years. Is there anything better than getting a new bike?
BTW - Blimey you guys get good deals out in the States...
