View Full Version : What are the Best/Funniest Jerseys You've Ever Seen/Worn?
ExtraSlow 08-06-2005, 11:01 AM Like many of you I regularly check out all of the catalogs in search of new cycling jerseys that are humorous or a little unusual.
A lot of what I see just doesn't interest me -- either too commercial, too boring or just plain UGLY -- although the new rock-n-roll jerseys that are coming out have begun to whisper to me. I also should confess that I'm not into "team kits" (maybe because the jerseys don't come in size XXXXXXL).
This got me wondering how many of you have really funny or unique jerseys in your collections that you'd care to describe (or post a photo). I'm guessing that there's very little available commercially that can match the creativity of a local bike club or a small group of demented cyclists.

upstateSC-rider 08-06-2005, 01:15 PM I've seen one a couple of weeks ago that had "Veni, Vidi, Vomiti" on the back. I was behind the guy for awhile before I realized it. :)
Lou.
Scotty2Hotty 08-06-2005, 09:02 PM I saw one with a huge cheeseburger on the front and some coke and fries on the rear. :)
mercurymike 08-07-2005, 07:25 AM If anybody remembers Calvin and Hobbes, the comic strip about a little boy and his imaginary tiger, I have a friend whose bike club was named Team Hobbes. The front of jersey had a small picture of tiger Hobbes and underneath the caption read- "A 300# ***** that eats you". I laugh every time I think of it.
Reynolds531 08-08-2005, 08:07 AM This summer I've gone with Grant's idea of wearing a seersucker shirt. It's cool, comfortable, and I love the way it flaps in the wind. Motorists treat me better than when I wear a "real" jersey. I didn't pay for his high-priced version, though. You gotta have the confidence and security to look like a Fred.
beantownbiker 08-08-2005, 08:52 AM But i thought this shirt was funny...at least on the guy wearing it...

and funny/jersey related article: http://www.nyvelocity.com/content.php?id=102
and a few years back I sawa rider wearing ajersey that said:
"The Old Guys Who Get FAT in Winter Racing Team." I almost wet myself when he passed me (OK i didnt almost wet myself, but it made me smile)
lampshade 08-08-2005, 09:08 AM Primal Wear jerseys are pretty funny.

These jerseys are from a Danish TV show. It is a comedy show and one of the Recurring sketches is a mocumentary about a cycling team called Team Easy On, named for a Condom Manufacturer. The shirts were available for sale, but I am having trouble finding the website. They supposedly out sold CSC jerseys in Denmark.
The show is popular in Denmark and I the theme song even became a hit song. Here are some videoclips. It is mostly in Danish, but parts of the clips are in English:

feathers mcgraw 08-08-2005, 01:31 PM I saw one that said 'Endo Boy' and had a drawing of a guy flying through the air like a superhero. Really wanted one, never saw one in a store.

Republic of Anaerobia...
I thought these were genuine Eastern Bloc team jerseys when I first saw them.
Too funny! Now I own one.

The front says, "Republic of Anaerobia" and also pays homage to the TdF polka-dot jersy. But instead of polka-dots, it has images of red blood cells. One of my favorite jerseys.

That's a good-looking jersey. If I could get that one and the one of Endo-boy that feathers mcgraw mentioned I'd be all set. ;)

Well, here's where I found the picture, you can order jerseys (and other clothing) from there with the logo:

*disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the company, I've never ordered from them (though I would if the jersey was cheaper)

Seems ironic that the only size right now is Small
