just in case any one you are looking for a bike on Ebay watch for this scam!!!
I sold My Seven on Ebay a week ago and now some one took my pics and text and is claiming that he has a bike like that for sale!!!!!
Here is MY ad and the bike is already sold
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=7298&item=3668996922&sspagename=STRK%3AMESSO%3AIT

and this is the scum that is trying to ripp people off! I can't believe he took my pic and the text, word for word.
this is the SCAM ad
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=7298&item=3671056812&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT

Look at all the other bike he's selling. I'll bet that he stole the pic from some other ad also.

I wish there is something I can do. I already email Ebay but I doubt they can do much.

Ebay pulled his ad. It sucks that these scam artists are out there but Ebay does pull the listing if they know it's a scam.

The easiest way to stop people from stealing your photos is to put a watermark on it in your photo editing program. If you can't do that on your program, write your seller ID on the photo while editing, or make a little sign that has your seller id on it, and stick it next to the bike while taking pics. This may seem like a pain, but your sales will double, especially if you're selling new stuff. People that are leary of Ebay will feel more confident bidding, because doing this to your pics makes it obvious you actually possess the item, and just haven't stolen someone elses pic. Other peole won't steal your pics, cuz they don't want to go to the trouble of editing those out of your photos. As far as people stealing your text, Ebay will only do something about this if they rip it off EXACTLY. If they re-phrase anything, your outta luck.

Another easy way to get scammers is to have a link to the photo, rather than posting a photo directly. That way, if the scammer just copies your HTML, you can switch your pic to one of you holding a sign that says "This is a scam!!".
