I am travelling to St. Albans VT over labor day and am looking for some good routes. I am training for a century, so routes on which I can get some miles would be nice. I am slso looking for an LBS that will let me rent a road bike. Any help you all can provide would be a help.

Spouse and I spent two weeks in the Champ. Islands. Lots of riding opportunities around there...in fact, we're going back up in early Oct. to leaf peep...

Backroading does require wider tires. We took our 559 wheeled light tourers w/32 mm slicks.

Rentals might be an issue, tho. Check out Bike Vermont on the web. also, there's a pretty good bike map and the VT Attractions map, available at all the State Tourist kiosks is terrific.

If you ever come back to the area, I live on North hero, anyways... Rte 2 , rte 78, rte 7 thats one huge loop maybe 70 miles

Stayed at Shore Acres. Mike and Susan, and staff are really neat folk.
