Been lurking for a bit, primarily a mountain biker but have been having fun lately riding my 1989 Cannondale (will get some pics up for you all at some point...).

I plan to convert this thing to SS and am hoping to use one of the Ovaltech rings that I have on the bike now. Anyone do this? Anyone got some tips?

Proposed setup and specs:

42/17 using Ovaltech front ring
swap current wheels with IRO Cycles free/fixed wheelset
120mm spacing on rear drops
394mm chainstay
shadow conspiracy half link chain (it's just too cool...)

Thanks!

Gday, Im no expert but I tried it with bio pace chain ring and couldnt get chain tension right without chain coming off. Good luck anyway.

You'd have to keep the rear der. on. Something would need to take up the chainslack caused be the different radii of the oval larger and smaller axes.

Really, you need to find a round ring.

Have fun.
