Just wondering how best to remove the fugly disc tabs on the Nashbar carbon fork, if anyone's done it. Don't use disc brakes. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with this fork so I guess that if they're not meant to be removed (bolted on, etc.) it's time to get primitive! This will obviously void the warrentee and possibly compromise the strength of the fork. You might be better off just ignoring those tabs, might make it easier to sell the fork later on when you're ready to step up to a nicer fork. cracker 08-25-2005, 12:07 PM Agree that the grinder/hacksaw thing may compromise your fork. Maybe if you think it's so bad & do take it off, make sure you cover over the wound with some lacquer or epoxy. Let us know how it goes if you do surgery. How about just sticking some cammo duct tape over it? Yah, that'd work - on the cross course you wouldn't even see it! And I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of those fugly knobs where the brake bosses screw in. - TF |
