Hello. I have this rack: http://www.thesportsauthority.com/sm-softride-access-dx-bike-hitch-rack--pi-1981617.html
My question is how do you guys with hitch racks stop your bikes from swaying? I am talking about swaying in this direction: Accelerate and the bike moves away from the car and slightly up. Step on the brakes and the bike sways towards the car and slightly up. I know i can use a bungee cord to stop the front wheel from turning sideways and spinning on the freeway but this sway thing still gets me. This would be my first time using it. Have to go riding early tomorrow so quick answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a hitch rack too, but not like that one. If I understand your question correctly, here is what I do. Take a bungee cord and hook it to the bottom of the hitch. Then loop it around the bottom bracket, back down to the hitch again. This will pull the bottom part of the bike to the hitch and keep it from swaying back and forth. I position my crank arm at about the 5 o'clock position and wrap padding or some pipe foam to keep it from getting scuffed. Hope this helps!

Sway is not all bad. I love it when a woman sways when she walks. Not that this has anything to do with bike racks. Speaking of racks...., but that is another topic entirely.

I'm no expert, so it may not be the best way to do it, but I put the frame on say, strap bracket 2, like normal, remove the front wheel (carry it in back of the van), then turn the handlebar and strap it down on strap bracket 4.

If there's some reason this isn't a good idea, someone let me know!
