Actually, regardless of the cost, it was a good deal because my wife bought them to surprise me.
As for the price, is that a good deal for a lightly used set of Ksyrium Elites? She got them from my brother in law, who just bought them last fall and was selling because he bought a new bike that came with the same wheels. He works for Adidas and gets Mavic stuff essentially at cost, so he said he was passing the savings on.
As far as the ride goes, dang, these wheels are sweet! So smooth. I will miss the nearly silent rear Shimano hub though. (Then again, I ride with a guy on Chris King hubs, so ANYTHING is pretty much "silent" by comparison!) Anyone want to buy a set of Ultegra hub/MA3 rim wheels with about 1400 easy miles on them by a 140lb rider?
(Actually, I'm trying to figure out a way I can keep them as spares, but I doubt the wife will be THAT generous!)
