I found a nice looking DeRosa but I'm just wondering what one of these is really worth. The 80s seems like an odd decade where things can either be true quality collectors stuff or oddly less collectable or desirable. The seller says it has all the original Campy 6-speed Record stuff. I've always wanted a sweet retro steel Italian frame and I finally found one mine size. I'd definitely ride it so I don't want something ultra collectable or expensive. It's got to survive on my college budget for a while so I might ebay the 6-speed stuff and outfit it with cheaper 8/9-speed cast offs.

What do you think a 1989 DeRosa is worth? Which tube sets are must haves or something to look for?

So its not worth much to me...but, it is a nice bike. I think you have exactly what you are looking for, something retro cool, not really collectable. The old group (if in really good shape) might bring a couple hundred, I keep bidding on those cranks and they always go too high.

Outside of that, I'd recommend keeping the group rather than outfitting it with cheaper cast offs. Unless you have those parts laying around, you will run up a bill higher than you sold the classic cools stuff for and wind up with a bunch of new cheap stuff.

The other option is to go Fixed Gear. Cheap and easy with that frame. I'd fix it then wrap some tape around the frame at the locking points and to add some fixed gear cool to it.

other than lacking chrome, it's red, de rosa and campagnolo so it's great.

Beautiful bike ! Is it C-record cranks and shifters ? Super record brakes ? It probably has 126 mm rear spacing so it is not directly compatible with modern stuff (130 mm).
Ride it and love it !
