or did I jinx it? Here we have the single most devistating natural disaster in the country, and I haven't seen or heard from him? It seems strange. I don't expect him to be filling sandbags, but wouldn't you'd think we'd hear something about his role in helping Bush deal with this?
He's in a secret undisclosed location of course (probably his house in WY smoking cigars and playing golf). You wouldn't want one of those mad looters killing the real brains behind this administration would you?

When Bush marched out his Cabinet to issue his statement couple days Rumsfeld was prominently right out in front. What was he thinking probably "well they can't blame me for this."

chuck rangel said a few days ago that cheney is seriously ill, and not too with it. rummy's running the country.

which explains bush's woefully inadequate handling of this situation, as well as others recently. hard for the puppet to perform without the puppeteer's hand up his ass.

I wonder if he was off golfing or fly fishing or duck hunting with Scalia again in Wyoming know that chief justice Renquist was about to pass away. Scalia will be the next chief justice. Count on it.

He will be in Alberta, Canada on Sept 8th. Some special invite only ($5k-10k a seat) dinner for some "think tank" called the Fraiser group. Mostly like about Canadian oil interests.

So, what has he been up to? Taking care of "business".

Don't think so, the case of hemmroids he has is soo bad he'll be dead by then or be driven MAD!

Poor guy can't ever sit. The guy has a standing desk...ie you don't sit at the desk you stand at the desk. Even on plane flights, do you ever see him sitting? Nope, he is standing leaning against a passage talking to reporters. Its that bad.

Well they've finally marched him out to spearhead the Bush Administration's inquiry into "what went wrong as well as what we did right" in the Katrina disaster. Where were they keeping him? My bet is that he was in mothballs down in that endless basement at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark", where the ark of the covenant was being stored.

He's alive and well. He was just busy.

Thanks for the link. The Tom Friedman article referenced on that page is another interesting one. I don't agree with many of his views but here he writes about how this administration is "better at inflicting pain (Iraq) than feeling it" and "taking things apart rather than putting them together".

Well, if he were touring the afflicted areas, the lefties would condemn him for creating/taking advantage of photo ops. And if he isn't marching about in the muck, he's condemned for "not caring" or whatever.

So, given that his visibility or lack thereof can't have a positive effect, he's working behind the scenes as usual.

Condemn that all you wish, but he's undoubtedly getting more done for the people of the Gulf than "leaders" like Jesse Jetstream.

Cheney comes out of his hole like a Prarie Dog. Bodies, Starvation, Carnage, Destruction he's MIA, as soon as they start getting ready to write checks he shows up faster than a hooker near a military base on pay day. I'm sure he's just checkin to see how much is stock is going to go up with ole HalliB gettin' a good chunk of the rebuild.

Overheard during Cheney's Hurricane Tour:

"Go f--- yourself Mr. Cheney!" the unidentified man shouted. The man then repeated: "Go f--- yourself!"

Asked by a reporter if had encountered similar protests during his tour, Cheney replied: "That's the first time I've heard it."

Yeah riiighhhhttt....first time my butt.
