You better be one fast SOB. I would hate to show up on that and get passed by some punk on a Le tour.

That is more a piece of art than a bike. If you wreck it I'll have you Arse.

Beautiful bike man.

I assume you're the carbonLord from AWOT? While I don't post there much anymore, I was a long time contributer. The internet is too small ;-)

Again very nice looking bike. Enjoy!

That is one of the most beautiful bikes I have ever seen!!! I just love everything about that beast... Congrats, for real... I'm actually pretty psyched because I am also about to get my first road bike (yea that's right, up to now I'm an MTB imposter on this board :p )... I just need to settle on a set of wheels!!!!

Snag this on eBay carbonlord? Marks on downtube appear the same.

If so, you got a deal! Have fun! :D

Yeah, small world indeed. I still frequent AWOT too.

I know this would have helped me, when I was shopping for one, so here are some more images of the frame, close ups, etc.

BMC SLT01 / carbonLORD.com

The 57cm fits large. I am just 6'3" with a 34" inseam and the frame fits like a 59, with just enough clearance on the top tube (thats barefoot, with cycling shoes, its perfect). The seat tube is also long (this is not a sloping TT) and although I have yet to ride it yet, will be making a lot of seat post, saddle and bar/shifter adjustments before I do. Probably get on the Kreitlers and adjust before it hits the road as well.

I origially contacted BMC direct through their web site, considering the 61cm they offer and was told, based on my measurements that it would work for me. I have no idea why BMC would recommend such a large frame and am happy I did more reaserch on these forums, as well as wherever else I could obtain information be it through sellers on eBay, or other cycling frums that made mention of the model. With limited response, I was then considering a 59cm frame, the next size down and found a Team Swiss version in red on eBay, but judging from the pictures, and the information from BMC's web site, and reading that it is always better to go too small, then too large started considering a 57cm, the next size down from the 59. I read three different reviews from other 57cm BMC SLT01 owners two of which were selling their 57's because they were too large and the owner I purchased mine from was 5'11" with a similar inseam.

I knew immedietly after building the frame up this far, that I had made the right decision not going any larger. I can not believe this is a 57cm frame. It seriously feels like a 58.5 to me and my friends all said upon first impressions, "Wow, that looks amazing!", followed by, "the frame looks real beefy", then, "I cant believe how light this is! Judging from the looks in size", followed by, "Man, it does look big". Granted, all of my cycling friends are smaller then me and ride 50-55cm frames so I expect it would appear a little larger.

If anyone is shopping for one of these frames, I hope you find this review helpfull. I know, had I paid retail as I was considering doing unless I found a deal, I would have been crushed, as I imagine many others have been finding out the wrong size was purchased.

Cheers!

CarbonLORD indeed.

I'm a long time MTB'r but I'm shopping for a my first road bike. I noticed the BMCs while browsing the Competitive Cyclist site. Great looking bike.

I'm curious about the ride when you get a chance. I believe I've read that the BMCs are serious bikes. Stiff, light, and fast. I'd be interested in your impressions.

I like the frame. I have considered buying one in the Phonak colors. My only beef with your bike is the crank. It looks kinda cheap. The Campagnolo Record carbon cranks look 10x nicer.

Yeah, I originally considered the Phonak colors, but my cycling friends thought a green and yellow bike was a bit much.

OTOH I feel the opposite, in terms of looks on the cranks.

C'mon now, admit it, you just like the Campagnolo logo's ;)

I persoannly think the Campy ones look rather boring, and wouldnt match the look with the bike I have built at all.

I already know they perform nearly identical, so it really is a matter of looks versus brand IMO.

To each his/her own I guess, but for nearly half the price.....eh, I dunno about 10x nicer ;)

Cheers!

Man, don't let anybody tell you anything about your rig, that's seriously become one of my all-time favorite most-drooled-over bikes ever... all that carbon just drives me nuts!

FWIW (and I have absolutely no relation or financial ties to the brand), I had a set of those cranks (CL) on my old FatChanceTi mountain bike (maybe 4-5 years ago) and they were absolutely top notch, but had a more matte/dull finish than these pictured (maybe I just had to polish them?).

Those gloss finish cranks are beautiful! Really nice looking bike as well.

ummmm dude...I think this is the guy that sells the cranks under the name CarbonLord. It's also pretty weak to put someone's gear down when they post pics on this site. If you don't like it then don't post. I'm sure if you were to post pics of your bike we could find a few things we don't like about it.

Anyway, CL it's a fine looking bike and I like the cranks. The naked carbon is classy looking and as an owner of Record carbon cranks I can say that I hate the black chainring bolts on Record cranks. They look cheesy as hell.

Max Q, your reaction is funny. You act like I just insulted your mom. It's just an opinion. Most countries allow those you know.

wow....you guys are quick to the duel. as a designer myself, i think Einstruzende give his view and as a designer, im sure carbonlord has recieved his education (err...been "trained" :)) to take criticism. its what fuels us. heck, my best stuff comes from people critiquing what i do, me defending it, and seeing a new sight. granted, im in a different field, but the same rules apply. ill step off my soapbox now.

at any rate, carbonlord, i think the cranks look great. personally, i would like to see the bike with all its plumbing. a nude bike like that is always deceptive to me. it "appears" sleaker than it actually is. once all the funny curves are introduced it fusses the overall up a bit. personally, i dont blame you for setting it up for shots this way.

btw....that has got to be one of the sexiest bikes ive seen. persoanlly, im a bit tired of the "stealth" look, but this one is done just right. well done. please let me know how it rides. i was considering one of these before i got my if.

cheers to all

Great-looking bike.
I wish there was more information/reviews on the Streetfire series, I'm really lusting after one of those.
