Hey I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Alan bikes. I have the opportunity to buy one and was wondering if anyone had any info.

Well, there's the old Alan and the new Alan. The old Italian Alan from 1970's was one of the first aluminum bikes - light, comfortable and extremely flexible. If you were small, feather-light and had a super-smooth pedaling style, Alans were made for you. Hung with drilled out stuff and other silly-light components, you get easily get an Alan bike below 17 pounds, which was very light indeed in those days.

The modern Alan is totally different, I'm sure. If Alan has web site, google will turn it up.

of their cross frames. I ride with the grassroots cross team down south. I've got the X40 carbon cross and love it. I had an A-Matrix road frame and really liked it as well. The X40 is lighter and carbon. They've got some sick frames coming out this year. Which model are you looking at? First pic is my A-Matrix road frame, second is my x40 and third (if I can get it to load) is my A-Matrix cross bike.
