Need help from anyone with experience with either of these two bikes. I am a mountain biker just moving over to the paved world and bought a Roubaix elite about 6 months ago and put about 500 miles on the bike before UPS shredded the frame when shipping the bike back from a group ride across the country. I need to get a new bike and basically have a new budget to work with and believe that I enjoy the sport enough to look into getting a bike built up a bit better rather than the 105/Ultegra mix that comes on the Roubaix Elite. I also think I may get a bit into the race scene, so would like my bike to fit that desire. I believe the F3c and the Tarmac Expert are both around the $2800 mark, so thought they should be comparable products between the two companies, but not positive on that one. Does anyone have any input on either of these two bikes and recommendations based on knowledge or experience? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey audiphile. I just got a F3C delivered Labor Day Weekend. What a dream ride !! Full carbon, Dura-ace, Velomax wheels, etc.... . My longest ride on it has been 72 miles and I still wanted to ride it after we finished !! It's smooth, climbs like a rocket, and looks sexy !! I purchased mine from "bikes-unlimited.com". I dealt with Bob and he was fantastic. He knew about this 2006 model before any of my LBS's . You can't go wrong with this bike. Go for it !!....... bikegerm
