I have a Softride Power Wing and I'd like to remove the decals on it. Does anyone have experience with the Softride decals? Thanks.

First question is whether the decals are under a clear coat. If that is the case, you have a difficult job at hand, typically involving using fine sandpaper to remove the clear coat. Acetone (nail polish remover) is reported to be good for removing decals once they are exposed, but you would want to check that it wouldn't attack the paint/clear coat. If the decals are clear coated, then you would want to clear coat the area after the decals are off.

Assuming they are on top of the clear coat, heat usually seems to do the trick. Just take a hair dryer and heat the area up. The stickers usually peel right off. If there is some glue left on the surface use soap and water maybe a mild solvent to wipe that off.

Brake fluid took the decal off my moutain bike (not entirely intentional, I might add)....

If the decals are not clearcoated, a good soaking with WD40, followed by fingernails, has always worked well for me.

on the beam or the frame itself?

with the beam is just used acetone or alcohol and fingernails.
