I was out for an early afternoon training ride (gettiing some last minute riding before Sundays Mt. Diablo Challenge) and I went up the West side of Alpine Rd in La Honda/Woodside area. Man did someone screw up the resealing of that road or what. Someone has resealled significant parts of the middle section of Alpine - just before the Stop sign half way up. The seal is seems like it has not fully set - it is very flaky to the point that you feel you are sinking in as you power up the 10% grade, and it is also very sticky - it provides a nice sticky black film to your tires that takes the next 2 miles to get ride of - just want you need right - the ultimate in tire rolling resistance as you climb this damn road!

That sucks, but at least they finally got around to paving that thing! I think the Army must have used it for mortar practice for years.
