I am looking at the following bikes:
05 Orbea Lobular 50 with all centaur and proton wheels. $2400
05 cervelo soloist centaur but it does not have the protons and does not have the centaur brakes but is in my price range. $1900
05 lightspeed firenzze with all centaur and proton wheels. $2400

I am leaning towards the Orbea but have not seen an reviews of the Lobular 50.

I ride hilly routes in the saint louis area every weekend (2 to 3 hour rides) and my old tank of a bike has seen better days. My wife wants to get me a new ride and is willing to spend a few dollars since I ride every weekend. Any thoughts would be great since spending that much money makes me crazy.

I am currently riding a 20+ year old Trek 1200 with all 105 except a 600 crank.

Thanks for the help.

whichever bike fits, you can afford, and the LBS will support. a damn good warranty (orbea) is a good thing too. i don't think you could go wrong with orbea...my recommendation is the scott cr1 team issue..Ultegra, with a descent wheelset (my next purchase).

I did take a look at the Scott but it was out of my price range. That is a very nice bike enjoy and thanks for the info.

I'd go with the Litespeed for the long term durability of ti. It's also made in the USA. AND, you should be able to make them give you a deal--Litespeed always starts dropping prices when the new models (06) are about to come out. Check Colorado Cyclist for deals on Litespeed, too.

Amen to that. Titanium would definitely be the way to go. I say that and I don't even own a titanium bike. But I've ridden one and it is definitely the pick of this crop.
