Swiss TV station SFDRS reports Bradley McGee has crashed severely and has been taken to hospital during the Zürich (GP) Metzgete. The homepage ticker (in german) is so bad I can't report on exactly what happened.

Are you sure it was McGee? I searched several different places and couldn't come up with anything. Jakob Piil was hit by a service car and broke his hip. There were 156 starters and only 49 finishers, so it's possble he crashed, just suprised I wasn't able to find anything on it. Even tried some Australian sites.

There's a mention of it, and a photo of McGee laying on the ground, on Graham Watson's website: http://grahamwatson.com/gw/imagedocs.nsf/updateframesetcall?openform&05zurich

Man, the white bibs are loking rough. From looking at those pics it looks like a great race. I would love to have to have seen it. I was going to post the pic but wasn't able to. But it probably went something like this:

i would run over and make sure that poor ba$tard of a commuter wasn't hurt....and then is he wasn't i'd fall on the ground, convulsing with laughter. that has got to be the most amusing photo i have ever seen.

It is 1 in a series of three. Below are the other 2. I got them off of here a couple of weeks ago. I just had to save them. There was a story with them. Apparently a pro photographer took them and they were published in a magazine or newspaper. He knew there was a pothole and just waited for some poor sucker to come along. A bunch of people were pissed off because he let the guy hit the hole. He claims he was making a point about how bad of shape the roads are in. Great photos nonetheless.

Ok that is just sick waiting for that to happen. The photographer should have sacrificed his own teeth if he wanted to "make a point".
What was that guy doing with an umbrella anyway?

The umbrella looked like it did a good job of keeping his hat dry. I'm surprised he held onto it all the way down. Save the umbrella, break the jaw...what would you chose? He looked like he weathered the storm, sort-a-speak.

He might have been using the umbrella to slow his fall. Kind of like Mary Poppins.
