Ok now that the 06 Trek 1500 comes with an Ultegra in the rear ive been wanting to buy this bike. But I rode a Cannondale R700 which comes with Ultegra as well. I cant decide which is the better bike. thanks

You should get whichever one fits better and you are more comfortable on.

That being said, I prefer the R700 to the Trek 1500.

I think the R700 comes with a much sweeter frame. The tubes are well sculpted and the hour-glass rear seat stays do dampen some of the road vibrations. Cannondale frames are also manufactured in America and the company says one person is responsible for doing the whole frame and it can track the build by the serial number.

The Trek is a quality bike, but I like the Cannondale better.

I'm also not a huge fan of Bontrager parts. I have been slowly replacing them on my mountain bike - a Fisher, which is owned by Trek.
