Do any of you know for a fact if the Visalite chargers work on 240 (I.E Irish/UK current) volts? I got one of the 5 watt halogens from a friend but the charger is American.Tried googling this but couldn't find an answer.

Don't know, but I would certainly doubt it. Pick up one of the little converters from a travel store or site - TF.

Unless it's a "smart" charger, like found on many laptop computers, it won't work. Per the suggestion from TurboTurtle, you need an adaptor that is available from most electronics stores or at any large airport "traveler shop."

I actually got a convertor and am using it at the moment - just don't fully trust it safety wise. No biggy - I can order a U.K charger. Thanks for taking the time to advise me.
