I'm sure Lance got to sleep in, but did anyone else get up in the middle of the night to make the shuttle busses from downtown DC at 4:30 am only to get to the finale launch point near Baltimore and find out the race event was cancelled?! What a bummer! We had biblical rains on Friday night, but there was no word on the disposition of the event and any discussion that it could cancel the night before. Several hundreds of riders showed up for the 50-mile ride into DC, but alas, the weather won out. The Tour raised more than a million bucks for cancer research, which is the real issue. But you'd think they would have a back-up plan in the event of weather cancelling the event. I didn't stick around the hotel to see what the follow up activities they were trying that the event organizers tried to cobble together....did anyone else hang around? What happened??
