For Immediate Release
One Comfortable Bike to Comfort Many in Need
With the news of the national disaster that has devastated our country’s gulf coast, Eric Bostrom wanted to contribute to the survivors of this catastrophe. Eric has found cycling to be a huge part of his life whether training for a race or simply to relax and enjoy the scenery around the world.
In July, Eric received a custom one-of-a-kind Cannondale Synapse bicycle built as a replica of Eric’s Ducati Superbike. “The Synapse was built for comfort and speed, two things that are a must on a performance bike designed for long rides and two things that Eric knows all about. Eric being a true professional has decided to donate his bike to raise money for those in need,” stated Bill Rudell Cannondale’s marketing manager.
Eric added, "It was such a big disaster, so every bit helps. Obviously the money is going to go to people who really need it, plus someone else will get a really cool bike out of the deal so everybody wins!”
The bike was a unique collaboration: Cannondale (www.cannondale.com) provided a full carbon Synapse frame/fork and SI crank system, Airtrix (www.airtrix.com) produced an amazing custom paint job, FSA chipped in for the latest carbon bars, stem and seatpost and Shimano (www.shimano.com) provided the super lightweight Dura Ace wheels and Ultegra shifters.
The bike will go on auction Oct 28th on EBay with all the proceeds going to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief. This will be your one chance to purchase a piece of Eric’s history, get a cool state of the art bicycle and help restore lives that desperately need our help.
