This is my first post. I am looking to get a Schwinn Fastback but I am not sure what the difference is between the models. I am looking at a 2005 Fastback Comp...Here is the link...http://www.cambriabike.com/Shopexd.asp?id=19227

The Comp is $359.00 more and I am wondering if I need the extra features. I will be mainly riding 6 miles to and from work but I may be riding a longer commute after I move next year.

I think you will be happy with either model. The Comp does appear to have the upgrades worth the price difference, but you probably don't need them. The Tiagra triple drive train will get you anyplace and works just fine. I don't know about either wheelset??

Be aware that they will have to be assembled. Don't know how much assembly required.

The comp. has better components and a carbon rear end that will inprove the ride. I would
go with the comp. if it fits into your budget.The most important thing is that it fits you
and you ride it, good luck

I agree with the others and will add that my son has an older fastback comp with all 105 and it is a really nice bike. Very light.

However, if you are really only looking for a bike to commute with it is my opinion that you should get something that will allow fatter tires and maybe even fenders. An urban/comfort bike or if you really want the road bike look, a cycle-cross would be great.
