On Monday the 7th I will be working in Charlotte, NC, on the south side of town
but might have a few minutes free in the afternoon and wanted to know if anybody has
a favorite shop to visit. I am primarily interested in seeing a wide variety of bikes
and will only be looking.

I use to live in Charlotte and though I don't remember the name of the shop, there was one located on Sharon Amity & Albemarle Rd. near Eastland Mall. I have not been on that side of town in almost 8 years though.
Maybe someone else here can be of further assistance.

i'm at school in chapel hill, but my parents live in charlotte.
visit ultimate bikes, they have a good looking bikes out there.

I'll second Ultimate. They have 3 shops: Matthews; Pineville and downtown (Selwyn Ave). They have a Mapquest on their website to figure out which location is closest. Prices are fair and the staff is very knowledgeable.
