chirider990 04-18-2004, 09:57 AM this is a pic of it
Any item is worth what you can find someone to pay for it. If you want a good idea what something is likely to be worth, look at eBay using the "Completed Listings" option, and find comparable items that have sold. That may or may not be what you can sell yours for (maybe there's only one guy in the world who wants the model XYZ, and he bought the one you're seeing as completed), but it'll give you a general idea. With that sort of odd single-speed conversion, it may be tough finding comparables, but it's worth a shot. I'm not really a single-speed guy, but that kind of conversion seems like it'd carry an unnecessary weight penalty compared to a single speed without derailleurs, etc.
You might actually find it easier to sell it as a frame/fork combo, to someone who's looking to build up a new bike. Older steel frames have lots of fans.
Dave_Stohler 04-18-2004, 04:56 PM Umm....why the derailleur on a SS? Wouldn't it be easier (as well as lighter, less complicated, and cheaper) to use a singleator?
slamy 04-18-2004, 07:34 PM That does not appear to be one of the upper end Bianchi models. Bianchi sold some cheap bikes in department sports superstores that were on par with a schwinn. If this doesnt have columbus sl tubing, then it's junk
Dave_Stohler 04-18-2004, 10:17 PM Did you notice the derailleur mount?? Looks like an add-on.
MR_GRUMPY 04-19-2004, 05:20 AM Low level Bianchi that has been converted to SS.
$250 might be in the ball-park.

Only if A-Rod plays in your ball park. A hundred bucks is about all would pay, since that's a bit more than I could build it for.

MR_GRUMPY 04-19-2004, 01:14 PM That $250 included the repair stand.
bicyclerepairman 04-19-2004, 02:59 PM 1.) Does the right hand rear dropout have a derailleur hanger lurking under the shiny one?
2.) The tires look different; do the front and rear wheels match?
3.) Are there any decals on the seat or down tube identifying the frame material?
4.) What is the serial number on the frame? (Usually found under the bottom bracket). If the Columbus decal is missing, this can be helpful in establishing the value.
bicyclerepairman 04-23-2004, 03:36 PM I had a local bike shop giving me the hairy eyeball when I was showing up buying parts for friends neglected old Schwinns, Gitanes, Merciers, Lamberts, Univegas, and Centurions. I was enjoying my hobby, and getting friends back into riding, but one shop entertained thoughts that I was working the wrong side of the fence.

yeah its a cheap add on
chirider990 04-23-2004, 03:54 PM Is the Park workstand stolen, too?
not to be mean. i had a differential equations exam. the cerial number it. 51041224. it was originally purchased at the port huron bicycle center. in port huron michigan. from the store owner dave. (now called the bicycle and fitness barn. you may call me at 810-334-9944 and i will tell you the number. the stand was bought for me by my parnets at jenson usa for xmas this year. any questions. call me please.
chirider990 04-23-2004, 04:09 PM Umm....why the derailleur on a SS? Wouldn't it be easier (as well as lighter, less complicated, and cheaper) to use a singleator?
since this is not originally a ss that means that it does not have horizontal dropouts. also i could not get the chain line to match up good enough to keep the chain on. so i just threw the der on so that i could ride it with the chain not flying off.
chirider990 04-23-2004, 04:12 PM i have it right now for 200 obo. so basically i am looking for some cash out of it. i am not looking for that much just what i put into it. it has unmatched wheels and tires. everything is in working order. i did about 200 miles in that last 2 weeks on it. thanx for all of your help and NO IT IS NOT STOLEN.

Did you buy a new fork for your friend's Lambert?
Friends don't let friends ride Death Forks.

bicyclerepairman 04-26-2004, 05:53 AM I didn't have to buy a fork (btw, it was a Viscount aka a latter day Lambert); I got one for free from Yamaha, who at the time (late 80's) was providing them on request to Viscount aluminum fork owners. I made a truing stand out of the Viscount fork and a barstool. I recall the fork (which was chromed) was made by Tange, and they threw in a Tange headset.
