I like clouds in the sky-they add an element of style if you catch them right.

I looked out the windows this afternoon, there were some thin, high clouds in the western sky. I rushed over to the east side of the Washington Monument just in time.

After 15 minutes of staring at the sky things started to happen. Another 15 minutes and it was all over except for the self portrait.

Wow. The second one is my new desktop background.

I'm not sure I've ever seen that particular view of DC. Thanks for the new look on my hometown.

Great pictures, MB1. I just got back (to Oragne County, CA) from DC last night. I took a picture of the Washington Monument in what I think may be almost the same spot as your first photograph. Was that up the block from the WWII monument? Anyway... the photos I took were on a film camera so it may be a little bit before I am able to post them. I putted around for a little bit on a borrowed bike. :cool:

The WWII Memorial is on 17th Street, I took these photos from 14th Street.
